
What we do
Transportation
Drive members to and from doctors, dentists, veterinarians, physical therapist, fitness centers, banks, post office, hair, salon/barber, grocery store, meetings, church, social events, train station, airport, etc.
Run errands for members where member provides lists and funds but does not go in with volunteer (to pick up groceries, prescriptions, dry cleaning, etc.)
Household Chores
Change lightbulbs, replace smoke detector batteries, change furnace filters, check fire extinguishers, make simple repairs/offer handyman advice, perform occasional light housework, prepare light meals, assist with occasional pet care
Technology/Electronic Assistance: Help with software, televisions, computers, tablets, printers, cell phones, DVD players, e-Readers, etc.
Social Assistance
Friendly visits, check-in phone calls, take walks, play games, read aloud, provide respite visits to relieve spouses or non-medical caregivers, provide short-term emergency support during recuperation, accompany member to a health care visit to take notes, help with handwriting tasks (correspondence, forms, etc.), assist in compiling emergency numbers
Yard Chores
Water outdoor plants, light weeding, transplant or re-pot plants, prune, occasional light leaf raking
Cville Village does not provide medical care or assistance with personal care including bathing, eating, dressing, taking medications, etc.
Fulfillment of service requests is subject to availability of qualified volunteers.
Additional services may be added as the need arises.


Service Area
Our service area for memberships is all of the city of Charlottesville, plus nearby parts of Albemarle County. South to Biscuit Run Park; north on US 29 to Polo Grounds Rd.; east to the intersection of I-64 and US 250 (Richmond Rd.); west to Old Garth Rd and Ednam. Here is the map showing our boundaries.
